P.C. Mathew for Garland Mayor 2025 Campaign Kickoff Begins with Great Enthusiasm

Dallas: The official campaign kickoff for P.C. Mathew, a candidate for Garland Mayor 2025, began on a high note on Sunday evening, December 29, 2024, at the KEA Hall. With the current Mayor’s term ending on May 3, 2025, the event brought together voters from Garland and surrounding cities, showcasing the diverse support behind Mathew’s candidacy. The vibrant participation highlighted Mathew’s commitment to inclusivity and his vision of uniting all communities.

The event was organized under the direction of Campaign Manager Martin Padeti. P.C. Mathew warmly welcomed attendees, who came with enthusiasm to support his vision for Garland’s future.
The evening began with a prayer by Pastor Garland Wright, followed by remarks from senior pastor and Agape Home Health President Shaji K. Daniel, who praised Mathew’s dedication to community service and affirmed his full support alongside his friends.

Campaign Treasurer and Dallas College professor Bill Ingram spoke on Mathew’s core priorities—safety, economic growth, and infrastructure. He emphasized Mathew’s proven track record of delivering results and his ability to turn promises into action.

The event also featured a musical performance by Akhil and Mrs. Prashanth, which added a spiritual and joyous tone to the gathering.

Campaign Committee member Ryan Keelan introduced Mathew to the audience, sharing details about his extensive community service, including roles on the Garland Environmental Advisory Board and Senior Citizens Advisory Commission. Keelan highlighted Mathew’s leadership as a former Senate member of Mahatma Gandhi University and a Board Member at Bahrain Indian School, emphasizing that his election as Mayor would serve the greater good of the community.

Latino community coordinator and campaign member Josh Garcia expressed his unwavering support, likening Mathew to a brother. Joe Mavera, a young leader and teacher active in Garland’s boards, also pledged his full backing.

Pastor Irwin Barrett, who also ran as a candidate for Justice of the Peace in Collin County, emphasized the need for leaders like Mathew who embody inclusion and compassion. Similarly, Gurwinder Singh, a candidate for Sachse City Council, stressed the importance of passionate leaders like Mathew in his remarks.

Representing the Muslim community, Saiful Islam spoke of Mathew’s inclusive approach and pledged support. Realtor and campaign member Abraham Mathew also shared his endorsement.

Ashley Winston, an African American campaign member, underscored Mathew’s broad appeal and community support, pledging her family’s backing for his candidacy.

In his response, P.C. Mathew reflected on his journey, from moving to Garland in 2005 to purchasing a home there in 2014, where he became deeply involved in the community. He shared his experiences organizing events at St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Church and St. Gregorios Church and his collaborations with city leaders. Mathew humbly asked for continued support to ensure the success of his campaign.

Mathew was accompanied by his wife Daisy Mathew, daughter Allin Mathew, son-in-law Timo Kurian, son Ancel Mathew, and other family members, reflecting the strong family support behind his candidacy.

The event saw the participation of many community leaders and supporters, including P.P. Cherian, Varghese Kayyalackakom, Pastor Sunny Vettapall, and others, who made the occasion memorable. Musical contributions from singers like Charlie Varghese and others added a cultural flair.

Mathew extended his gratitude to everyone who supported and contributed to the event, including local businesses like Kia, represented by Sibi, Shanu, and Aniyankunju, who provided refreshments. Campaign Manager Martin Padeti concluded by urging financial and other support to ensure Mathew’s victory.
