Thiruvalla, Kerala: Global Indian Council (GIC) organized a meeting of the invited guests at the Peringara Illamon Heritage Center to begin its first Chapter in India called “The Central Kerala Chapter” as part of its expansion.
Dr. J Rajmohan Pillai, Kerala State Award winner for the Best Businessman 2022 and the Chairperson of the GIC Center of Excellence Business Development, inaugurated the Chapter formation meeting by lighting the lamp in the presence of distinguished guests and prominent dignitaries. He hoped this chapter would be the beginning and many chapters will be opened in India and many other countries in the coming months.
Center of Excellence for Women’s Empowerment, Dr. Sosamma Andrews, and the goodwill ambassador of the New York Chapter of GIC Mr. Andrews, were representing GIC physically at Thiruvalla, which was a great encouragement for the new members of the Chapter. Dr. Sosamma stated that we have chapters already opened in New York and Austin, and many other chapters are due to open worldwide, shortly.
Dr. Kurien Thomas, a former Principal of Bishop Moore College, Mavelikkara, and the Chairman of the Center of Excellence of Education, Literature, and Languages, also delivered a speech and stated that GIC’s vision and mission are of great value. Connecting people for the sake of helping and sharing knowledge will be a fantastic idea, and we are going to stand for it.
Prof. K. P Mathew announced that the GIC Chapter would be fully activated with elected office-bearers, and “plans are underway to have its formal and colorful inauguration by January 2023”. Along with Prof. Mathew, the former principal of BAM College Thuruthicad Prof. Varghese Mathew, Prof. Abraham Varghese, Prof. Lathara, Dr. Kurien Thomas, Dr. Rajmohan Pilllai, and a good team of scholars are sincerely working for its success.
Mr. Sudhir Nambiar, GIC Global General Secretary, and Wall Street IT Company Director from New Jersey, stated that “Our dreams connecting from Global to National and Chapter to Chapter is becoming true, and this is an opportunity for people who want to give back to the community”.
Global Vice President of GIC, Prof. Joy Pallattumadom from Texas, in his felicitation speech stated that “through the various Centers of Excellence of GIC, members could excel in their passion, share it with other talented scholars and radiate it to the surrounding communities worldwide”.
Various GIC Global Cabinet members felicitated the event online. Dr. Jija Harisingh IPS (Retd DIG Karnataka & GIC Goodwill Ambassador), Tom George Kolath (Chairperson CoE Visual Media), Dr. Mathew Joys (GIC Global Media Chair), Adv. Seema Balasubramanyam PRO, Adv. Susan Mathew(Jaipur), K.J. Varghese IFS, Usha George (CoE Cochair, Health and Wellness), former Ambassador Srikumar Menon and Dr. T. P Narayanakutty, delivered facilitation speeches congratulating the new leaders who joined the Central Kerala Chapter.
Global Treasurer Dr. Tara Sajan, an early retired Indian Army officer, and a pilot, currently the Director of Lincoln Hospital in New York, who is also the Treasurer of the National Association of Indian Nurses of America, stated that we are proud to see enthusiastic leaders joining GIC and wished all the best for the new chapter.
