INDIAN NURSES ASSOCIATION OF NEW YORK INVITES NURSES TO PARTICIPATE IN ESSAY CONTEST

Indian Nurses Association of New York (INANY) is inviting essays to its annual essay contest.  The Theme of the essay is “You Make a Difference.”  The matter should reflect the varying nursing

roles the nurse plays in healthcare and the positive impact the nurse has on other’s life.  All New York State licensed registered nurses of Indian origin/heritage living in New York state are eligible to participate in the competition.  The essay must be in two pages, typed in double spaces and without author’s identifiable personal information.  A separate cover page with author’s name,

credentials, contact phone number and email address is to be submitted with the essay.  The submission is to be sent to the Chair of the Awards & Scholarships Committee at [email protected] no later than April 30th.

Dr. Anna George, the president and Salil Panakal, the chair of the Awards and Scholarships Committee inform that by providing a platform for this competition every year, INANY is encouraging Indian American nurses to stimulate their writing skills to challenge their professional vision, pride, and potentials.  This initiative has had a positive effect on nurses and had attracted several nurses’ participation in the past.

Salil said that the first and second winners will be judged by a panel of jurors.  The winners will be announced at INANY’s Nurses’ Day celebration on May 13.
