INDIAN INNOVATION: Hyderabad to Get ‘Donald Trump Avenue’ Near US Consulate.
Hyderabad: In a move aimed at highlighting the growing ties between Telangana and the United States, Hyderabad is set to have a prominent road named “Donald Trump Avenue” after United States President Donald Trump.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is scheduled to formally inaugurate the newly christened road at a diplomatic event expected to be attended by senior state officials and representatives of the American diplomatic community. The avenue is located adjacent to the US Consulate in Cyberabad, one of the city’s major technology and business hubs.
The inauguration will mark one of the rare instances in India of a significant public road being named after a sitting American President.
According to state officials, the initiative is intended to strengthen Hyderabad’s image as an internationally connected and American-friendly digital city. The Telangana government views the naming ceremony as a symbolic recognition of the deepening economic and strategic relationship between Telangana and the United States.
Officials said the decision forms part of a broader effort to project Hyderabad as an increasingly global city and an attractive destination for international investment. Over the past several years, Hyderabad has emerged as one of India’s leading centres for Global Capability Centres (GCCs), attracting major multinational corporations and expanding its reputation beyond that of a traditional information technology hub.
Government sources believe that the establishment of Donald Trump Avenue will draw international attention and further reinforce Hyderabad’s identity as a city with strong global connections and ambitions extending well beyond its established status as an IT powerhouse.
The development comes amid expanding commercial and technological cooperation between Telangana and the United States, with Hyderabad continuing to position itself as one of India’s foremost destinations for foreign investment and innovation.,
