GTECH launches Mu Learn to bridge industry-academia gap

Thiruvananthapuram: The industry body of technology companies in Kerala, G Tech has launched Mu Learn, an industry enabled digital platform for peer learning to nurture the students with necessary expertise in the IT industry from the college days onwards. The project is aimed at bridging the gap between the academic and the IT sectors. Minister of Higher Education, Dr. R Bindhu inaugurated the project on the occasion of World Youth Skills Day

Thomas, Kerala Digital University Vice Chancellor Dr. Saji Gopinath, Kerala Technological University Vice Chancellor Dr. Rajashree MS, ICT Academy CEO Santhosh Kurup, UST COO Alexander Varghese, GTech Chairman Sunil Jose, GTech ATFG Convenor Deepu S Nath, EY Director Richard Antony, Tata Elxsi Center Head Sreekumar V and Genpro Research CEO Anoop Ambika were present at the occasion.

The Academy and Technology Focus Group (ATFG) under GTech has formed a platform comprising leading IT companies, Kerala University of Technology, Kerala University, Kerala Digital University, ICT Academy and colleges across the state. This platform will facilitate the academic sector to recognize the advanced requirements and innovative technologies of the industrial sector. For this, the necessary upskilling programs will be planned and implemented. As part of this program, training and faculty development programmes will be provided to college teachers and students. Through Mu Learn, students will get the opportunity to network, acquire and demonstrate their skills with the help of mentors and industry leaders.
