വക്കം മൗലവി മെമ്മോറിയൽ ആൻഡ് റിസർച്ച് സെന്ററിന്റെയും ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് ഫോർ ഗ്ലോബൽ സൗത്ത് സ്റ്റഡീസ് ആൻഡ് റിസർച്ചറിന്റെയും ആഭിമുഖ്യത്തിൽ “ഗുർണയുടെ ഭൂപടത്തിലെ കേരളം” എന്ന വിഷയത്തെ ആസ്പദമാക്കി പ്രഭാഷണവും ചർച്ചയും നടക്കുന്നു. മുഖ്യ പ്രഭാഷണം നടത്തുന്നത് പ്രമുഖ എഴുത്തുകാരനും പത്രപ്രവർത്തകനുമായ വി. മുസഫർ അഹമ്മദ് ആണ്. സാഹിത്യത്തിന് 2021 ലെ നൊബേൽ സമ്മാനം നേടിയ ടാൻസാനിയൻ വംശജനായ അബ്ദുൾ റസാക്ക് ഗുർണയ്യുടെ കേരളത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള, പ്രത്യേകിച്ചു മലബറിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള കാഴ്ചപ്പാടും അറിവും ചർച്ച ചെയ്യുകയാണ് മുസഫർ അഹമ്മദ്. പശ്ചിമേഷ്യ-പ്രവാസ പഠന വിദഗ്ദ്ധനും മഹാത്മാഗാന്ധി സർവകലാശാലയിലെ നെൽസൺ മണ്ടേല ചെയർ കോ-ഓർഡിനേറ്ററുമായ ഡോ. എം. വി. ബിജുലാൽ ആധ്യക്ഷത വഹിക്കും. നവംബർ 12 വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച വൈകുന്നേരം 7 മണിക്ക് ( (IST) 7 മണിയ്ക്ക് സൂം മീറ്റിൽ പ്രഭാഷണവും ചർച്ചയും നടക്കും. യുട്യൂബ് ചാനലിൽ തത്സമയ പ്രക്ഷേപണം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും.
Vakkom Moulavi Memorial and Research Centre (VMMRC) is organizing a Special Lecture programme in association with the Institute for Global South Studies and Research (IGSSR) on the theme “Keralam in Abdulrazak Gurnah’s Mapping.” Gurnah is the recipient of 2021 Nobel price winner in Literature. The Lecture is delivered by Muzafer Ahamed, a Kerala Sahitya Akademi award winner who served as a journalist in the Middle East for long. Dr MV Bijulal, a faculty and Co-ordinator of the Nelson Mandela Chair in Mahatma Gandhi University will chair the session. The programme is scheduled through a Zoom Meeting at 7 PM on Friday, 12 November.
